This group has existed since July 2017. The women lives in the same town and keep up strong ties of kinship and solidarity. Their main work is in commerce.
Ndeye Maty, with a hand raised in the photo, is the group's representative. She is 71, married, and the mother of seven children, including four daughters. She dyes fabrics and has been buying and selling ‘pagne’ cloth for a long time.
After buying ‘pagne’ cloth, she works on them, adding motifs, before reselling them in her town at a profit. She has a great deal of experience in this work of hers.
With her earnings, she manages to maintain her business, take care of her family, and support herself. Her plans include buying sacks of cement for construction purposes.
