Atec's story

Imagine a situation where traditional cooking methods put your family’s health, even lives, at risk. Studies in Bangladesh show that neonatal mortality is four times higher for babies born to mothers using solid fuels like peat, wood, and charcoal compared to those using clean fuels. According to the World Health Organization, household air pollution from such fuels causes serious diseases, including stroke, heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and lung cancer. In Bangladesh, over 80% of all consumed wood is used for cooking, a practice that accelerates deforestation and climate change.

ATEC’s IoT-based eCook stove provides an innovative, safe, and efficient solution to address these issues. With your support, we can equip 600 households with clean cooking technology, saving up to 155,490 kg of wood, significantly reducing climate impact. Each eCook stove can save users three hours daily and reduce carbon emissions by two tons annually. Users will also earn cash incentives through carbon credits generated by their usage.

ATEC’s smart eStoves produce no harmful gases or PM 2.5 particles, creating no risk to personal health or the environment. In Bangladesh, where 90% of women manage household cooking, these eStoves protect health, save time, and make cooking an income-generating activity. With this loan support, ATEC can drive widespread change, benefiting people’s lives and the climate. See our customer Rahela in the picture with her eCook stove.
