Ayana's story

I am a Detroit native with a unique story to tell. Imagine receiving your first PC laptop on your sixteenth birthday. You're inspired by the arts and have a natural gift. For me, this is exactly where my entrepreneurial journey starts. I began exploring the world of visual arts and media production and at the time I didn't know it but I'd be changing my university major from biomedical to broadcast journalism because of it. I've always been tuned to follow my passions and it has led me to profound places. Fast forward to graduating one year early from university--finishing my credits in Japan, working for radio stations, writing for newspapers, producing my own original content via youtube/Amazon Prime and partnering with others for their shows, podcasts, and commercials; I see it was all leading me to these moments now!

Manifesting any dream upon your own merit is difficult but its balanced with a great feeling of building something that is truly your own. This feeling I speak of is something I want others with the same inner passions to be able to experience for themselves. My never ending desire for success helped me in not giving up even when there wasn't real support or guidance to show me proper financial investing or the best software for managing and supervising a team. A lot of things along the way I had to learn through trial and error and the purpose of knowledge once learned, is to pass it on.

Over my previous 10 year journey, it has led me to utilize learned knowledge to consult other independents or business owners where I felt I needed guidance at the very beginning. I have led and implemented programs for job training with the Boys and Girls Club of Chicago in partnership with Archdiocese of Chicago Programs. I have served with Directors of Detroit City government within the Arts, Culture and Entertainment department. For example, I was apart of the curation plans for the city districts listening tours. I have been contracted and hired to conduct finalists interviews with Motown Museum programs and completed internal safety media with Detroit City big three manufacturing companies.

Some of these companies produce products like Elmers Glue. Every path is different but having real support at key moments can make a world of a difference in finding success, or creating generational wealth. Always having an entrepreneurial spirit, I have been professionally educated within media communications, and supported by industry mentors throughout the nation. I desire to share this wisdom and encourage team building within my home community. Everyone who works for it deserves an opportunity to pursue their goals small or large no matter their plights, challenges or shortcomings. ManagedByUs (MBU) is geared towards being an entity operated by the community, for the community and has the ability to reach international markets. My team and I are already jump starting partnership conversations in Japan. It starts at home first, with us!
