Heidi's story

I’m a proud Arizona native, born and raised in the heart of the desert. From a young age, I was drawn to entrepreneurship—my first venture was a lawn care business I started with a friend as a teenager. In my 20s, I launched a personal fitness business, which eventually led me into the world of martial arts. No matter the industry, I’ve always had a passion for building something of my own, creating opportunities, and turning ideas into reality. Entrepreneurship has never been just a job for me—it’s been a lifelong mindset.

As an independent artist with nearly a decade of experience on the road doing art shows and pop-up markets, I’ve spent my journey immersed in creativity, community, and pop culture. My passion lies in celebrating fandoms and artistic expression in all their forms—from bold abstract acrylic paintings to handmade crafts that spark nostalgia and joy.

Opening Poppin’ Off Pop Culture Gifts & More was the natural next step. I wanted to create more than just a store—I wanted to build a vibrant, welcoming space where people could connect, geek out, and support local artists. I know firsthand how hard it is to make a living as a creative, and that’s why over half the products in my shop are made by other local artisans; It’s about lifting each other up.

This store is the result of years of hustling, dreaming, and believing that art and fandom bring people together. Every event we host—from trivia nights and craft workshops to collaborative art projects—is rooted in my belief that creativity should be accessible, fun, and community-driven.

Poppin’ Off is more than just a retail space—it’s a love letter to the geeky, artistic, DIY spirit that shaped me. And it’s my way of giving back to the creative community that’s supported me every step of the way.
